Born and raised in Marietta, Ben is a proud University of Georgia graduate with a Psychology degree. Seven years of college and still not a doctor, which is why he says the movie Tommy Boy is basically his autobiography. Go Dawgs.
Ben has been with Unsukay Restaurants since 2013 and has done just about everything you can do in a restaurant, working his way from Server Assistant all the way to General Manager before stepping into his current role as Operations Manager.
When he’s not bouncing between restaurants, you’ll probably find him obsessing over Baseball Reference, cheering on the Braves, Falcons, or Hawks, or reminiscing about the time he saw Stevie Wonder in concert. (Unfortunately, Stevie did not see him.)
Ben’s dream shopping spree would be at the Nike Company Store because “you’ve gotta keep your feet clean.” His favorite trip was to Jackson, Wyoming, where the mountains made Georgia look like a speed bump. He’s also one of the few people who openly admits to having a phobia of wet naps, describing them as “wet socks for your hands.”
His bucket list still includes dunking a basketball (he’s accepted this may be a long shot), buying a house, and winning the lottery—in roughly that order.
And if you haven’t met Ben yet, you’ll hear him before you see him. His laugh has become something of an Unsukay legend, capable of echoing across an entire restaurant and making everyone else laugh right along with him.
